Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate released from Romanian prison after 3 month detention

Updated: Apr 1, 2023

British-US citizen, World kickboxing champion and controversial social media icon Andrew Tate, along with his brother Tristan Tate, were recently released from prison in Romania and placed under house arrest after winning an appeal over their detention.

The investigation into human trafficking claims against the brothers and two Romanian women continues, and none of the four have yet been charged.

Andrew Tate has gained notoriety over the years for his alleged "misogynistic" views, and was detained with his brother Tristan and the two women, Georgiana Naghel and Luana Radu in December 2021 on suspicion of human trafficking, rape, and forming an organised crime group. The Romanian anti-organised crime agency, Diicot, had identified six victims in the human trafficking case who were allegedly subjected to physical and mental coercion and sexually exploited by members of the alleged crime group. Victims were allegedly lured with pretences of love, intimidated, placed under surveillance, and coerced into engaging in pornographic acts for the financial gain of the crime group.

After the arrests, Tate appealed against his detention, but lost last month. However, the Bucharest Court of Appeal ruled in favour of Tate's appeal and challenged the judge's decision last week to extend his arrest for another 30 days. All four individuals will remain under house arrest until 29 April.

Naghel, a US citizen, is rumored to be Tate’s girlfriend — while Radu is a former cop who turned to porn, according to the Times of London. These two women are accused of helping to manage the alleged criminal empire.

Sources close to the Tate family have not made any public statements about the incident or their legal situation, but some of Tate's supporters have expressed their belief in his innocence on social media. Despite the controversy surrounding his legal situation, Andrew Tate still has a considerable following, with 5.4 million Twitter followers.

The human trafficking case involving the Tate brothers has gained significant attention due to Andrew Tate's high profile and notoriety.

It remains to be seen what the outcome will be, but the accusations against them have been serious, and the investigation is ongoing. Andrew and Tristan Tate's release from prison and placement under house arrest is a significant development in the ongoing legal saga involving the brothers and the two Romanian women. Despite some support from Tate's followers, the accusations against them are severe, and the investigation is ongoing. It is essential to await the outcome of the case before passing judgment.
